Friends with Music is a youth ensemble comprised of pre-college string musicians. Founded by Jina Choi and students, the musicians started to practice as a group for a performance at Carnegie Hall in 2015. Since then, the group grew in quality and quantity, and the students strengthened their technical skills, along with their passion for music.

 

The name “Friends with Music” was decided as it holds the meaning that musicians can have a lifelong companionship with music. More importantly, the name represents the friendships that the musicians have developed through practicing and performing with one another. The students look forward to the weekly practices that not only brighten up their spirit with harmonious music, but with the laughter and joy that radiates from each musician and fills the room.
